CAPS - ACÉAU

Student Presentations

There are several options for student presentations and student active participation in the 2013 Conference.

Panel Discussions

Each panel discussion will be led and moderated by a specialist in the field. After an introductory presentation by the specialist, students will have the opportunity to present their own work, related to the theme of each panel.
Our three themes are:
- "Planning and the new media"
- "Public participation in planning projects"
- "Heritage, identity and planning"

The length of each oral presentation is 5 to 8 minutes. We encourage active exchanges between the audience and the presenters: 5 minutes will be dedicated to questions from the public at the end of each presentation.

Poster Presentations

Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their individual planning work. Student posters will be displayed at the Conference venue, and students will have the opportunity to informally present their project and network with fellow students and professionals over lunch time.

Posters will be printed and displayed by the CAPS-ACÉAU planning committee free of charge for participants.

Individual Oral Presentations

If you would like to do an individual oral presentation with visual support, please write directly to  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  before 11:59 pm on December 23rd 2013.

Urban Planning Charrette

Students will have the opportunity to take part in an urban planning charrette. The charrette will be launched on Friday afternoon and students will have until Saturday morning to submit their project. Students will have to produce a vision and development orientation for the future of a neighbourhood in Montreal. The location will be disclosed later on. Projects will be judged by planning scholars and professionals, and winners will be announced at the Saturday night social event.
