Senior central area Planner for Vancouver's downtown peninsula

Michael Gordon has practiced planning in four provinces over the past 36 years and since 1991 he has been the senior central area planner for Vancouver's downtown peninsula focused on preparing land use, urban design and infrastructure policy and community engagement. He was recently elected Vice President of CIP and will assume the office of President in July 2013 at the conference in Vancouver. For the past 12 years, he has been a Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia teaching a graduate level Housing Policy course for planning and architecture students and supervising the preparation of planning and architecture theses.

Michael Gordn urges students to respond to the Call for Digital Media, and will moderate a panel discussion on the role of new media in planning projects at the 2013 conference. This is his 7th CAPS conference and he is committed to work with students and encourage them to become contributing members of the Canadian Institute of Planners.
