Lynne Peterson is manager of Planning Innovation in the Provincial Planning Policy Branch, which is responsible for developing and maintaining the legislative, policy and regulatory framework for municipal planning in Ontario, and defining provincial interests in land-use planning.
Lynne is currently working on sustainable community planning approaches and promoting municipal implementation of new tools in recent Planning Reform legislation. Her section is at the forefront of exploring graphics and visualization approaches to communicate the use of planning tools for local investment-readiness; climate change; healthy communities; pedestrian and transit-friendly, mixed-use and higher density development.
Lynne’s section also provides substantial land-use planning policy support to other government priorities, including the Greater Golden Horseshoe Growth Plan; Metrolinx transportation planning; Clean Water Act implementation; the Long-term Affordable Housing Strategy; Renewable Energy, and the Ontario Climate Change initiative.
