George McKibbon

George McKibbon (M.C.I.P., R.P.P., A.I.C.P.) is the Ontario Professional Planners Institute’s Director of Policy Development and a Council member.  He has over 35 years of planning experience and is a graduate of the University of Guelph (M.Sc., Rural Planning and Development) and York University (Masters in Environmental Studies).  He is a Registered Professional Planner in Ontario, a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners in the United States and a Charter Member of the American Planning Association.  He has been the Director of Policy of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute from 2007 to the present and was the Canadian Representative on the Upstate New York Chapter Board of the American Planning Association (2003 to 2008).  He helped draft OPPI’s Healthy Communities Policy Statement and Call to Action released on World Town Planning Day in November 2007 and has been involved in its implementation ever since.  He has also spoken on this subject to planners on several occasions in the United States and Ontario.
